Everton FC To Take On MLS All-Stars

No more fish and chips!!

No more fish and chips!!

English Premier League squad and finalist for the 2009 FA Cup, Everton FC, will canoe across the ole pond this summer to take on the MLS All-Star team.

The July 29th match in Sandy, Utah — home to current Western Conference third place club Real Salt Lake — will be the sixth match between the MLS elite and an international opponent.  MLS All-Stars hold sway at the moment with a 5-0 record in international competition.  Everton FC will look to break the streak with the help of former MLS star and current U.S. National Team goalkeeper, Tim Howard.

The match is slated to air on ESPN2.

CONCACAF action could bring USA, young stud to Philly!

GET OFF ME!!!!

GET OFF ME!!!!

There is nothing sweeter than seeing one of your own predictions coming true, especially when it comes to US soccer!

Jozy Altidore, the US’ OTHER up-and-coming 19-year-old stud — where you at Freddy? — is playing like a MAN! After the US’ miserable play against El Salvador last weekend, Altidore manned up an netted himself a hat-trick against Trinidad and Tobago to lead the States to a 3-0 victory.

This bodes well for both Team Red, White and Blue and for you, Philly!

July 18th is quickly approaching — now just 15 weeks away — and it is looking more and more likely that Team USA will be one of the four teams competing in the double-header action at The Linc!

All soccer fans should be excited about seeing A) Team USA play; and B) Jozy Altidore continue to blossom into the US’ next big star. Tickets go on sale to the public on April 17th, at 10 AM, but if you have already put down your hard earned Washingtons on tickets with the MLS’ club, you can get tickets earlier than the 17th by contacting the club.

Let’s go Philly, show the world that soccer is going to thrive in our city!
